A new graphite spheronising mill is the latest piece of equipment to be delivered to the Collie plant.
The shaping equipment combines spheroidisation, classification and collection features and can be applied to artificial or natural graphite. It is the best solution for producing spherical battery anode material because of its high yield and low energy consumption.
The new R&D plant will be used to produce, evaluate and optimise spherical graphite to refine production processes and determine final product specifications.
Spheronisation is a sizing and shaping process that optimises graphite particle surface area for battery anode material.
