A testwork program coordinated by Japan’s Marubeni Corporation, one of the world’s biggest integrated trading and investment conglomerates, has returned battery grade results from Springdale graphite concentrates. International Graphite has been collaborating with Marubeni under a non-binding memorandum of understanding for the potential supply of spheroidised graphite from Springdale and potential financial support for International Graphite’s mine to market strategy.

International Graphite has been awarded another $4.0 million from the Western Australian Government towards commercialisation and integration activities for the Springdale─Collie mine to market battery graphite supply strategy. The funds will be used for trial mining at Springdale and installation of Australia’s first graphite spheroidiser, at Collie.
