Operations

A staged development plan will enable International Graphite to rapidly respond to market needs and capture the full potential of the graphite value chain.

International Graphite is rapidly developing as a next generation manufacturer and one of the first Australian companies producing downstream graphite products and battery anode material to exacting customer standards.

The company is planning to produce an extensive range of processed graphite products in a staged production flow designed to extract full value from the graphite value chain. Our vertically integrated operation is wholly contained in the secure and progressive Western Australian jurisdiction and includes the planned development of a new graphite mine at Springdale, supplying feedstock for an advanced downstream graphite processing facility, at Collie.

Highly encouraging findings from the Springdale-Collie Integrated Mine to Market Scoping Study, released in January 2024, indicates the operation is expected to have a globally competitive cost structure and robust economics. Download the investor presentation.

Our research and development program is designed to:

  • Demonstrate the Company’s ability to produce a high quality spheroidised graphite product suitable for battery anode material
  • Support the design and development of a commercial line of micronised graphite product
  • Begin establishing International Graphite’s presence in the graphite marketplace
  • Build operating expertise in graphite product handling and packaging
  • Assist in the development of a process for the purification of graphite concentrates

Downstream Graphite Processing at Collie

A new pilot scale processing facility, including graphite micronising and spheroidising equipment, has been successfully commissioned at Collie. The pilot plant is the most advanced and largest known facility of its type in Australia and is the first stage in the company’s roadmap to full-scale commercial production.

Strategic Project Location

Our vertically integrated operations are being established in the resource-rich province of Western Australia, noted as the world’s premier jurisdiction for resource investment. The new downstream graphite processing facility at Collie is less than 200km from the WA capital of Perth, in the centre of the growing South West industrial region. Collie is 450km by road from the company’s exploration tenements at Springdale, near Hopetoun, on WA’s south coast.

Resource Development at Springdale

International Graphite is investigating the resource-rich tenements at its 100% owned Springdale Graphite Project, in WA. A maiden drilling program has identified significant new high grade graphite intersections and the company plans to establish an open cut mine that will produce graphite concentrates as feedstock for its Collie downstream processing operations.
